Rare Finds
Paste any iNaturalist observation search. Rare Finds lists every taxon it returns, ranked by how few times that taxon has been observed anywhere in the world, and builds a slide deck of the ones you pick.
The search runs in your browser and talks directly to iNaturalist. Dikarya does not store your query or the slides.

How to read this. "Worldwide" is every iNaturalist observation of the taxon, any quality grade, at the time of the search. Taxa above species (a genus nobody took further, for example) are left out, because a count for a whole genus says nothing about rarity.
Provisional names such as Inocybe sp. 'PNW77' exist only because someone sequenced a collection, so a low count there partly reflects how few collections get sequenced. "Known from only N observations anywhere" is accurate; "rare species" is a stronger claim.
