intro The material on which this concept is based was originally received with the comment that it represented A. barrowsii; however, examination of the material shows it is quite different from the latter species.  Hence, little can be assumed concerning the species in its fresh state.
cap The original color of the cap is unknown.  The cap dried to a pale brownish gray with a metallic sheen.&nbp; The cap's margin is short striate.  Sometimes a patch of volva is left on the cap.
gills There are no details available regarding the gills of this species.
stem Little is known of the stem except that it has no ring and has a sack-like volva at the stem base that can enclose as much as a third of the stem if no patch is left on the cap.
odor/taste Neither odor nor taste has been recorded for this species.
spores The spores of A. sp-NM01 measure (10.0-) 10.8 - 14.2 (-16.5) × (7.5-) 7.8 - 9.5 (-10.2) µm and are broadly ellipsoid to ellipsoid and inamyloid.  Clamps are not found at the bases of basidia.
