  • cap The cap is pale brownish gray, at first darkest in the center and over the marginal strations, but more evenly colored at maturity, and with striations occupying 25-35% of the cap's radius.
    stem The stem lacks an annulus and is white, pulverulent near the apex, with irregular white floccose bands down to the upper rim of the rather robust, sack-like volva.  The volva lacked a membranous internal limb in the material that has been examined.
    spores The spores measure (8.4-) 9.6 - 12.0 (-13.2) × (7.0-) 8.0 - 11.0 (-11.7) µm and are subglobose (infrequently globose, rarely ellipsoid) and inamyloid.  Clamp information t.b.d.
    discussion

    This entity has been collected only in the Province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada—both on the Isl. of Newfoundland with Balsam Fir (Abies balsamea) and in Empetrum heath with dwarf Birch (Betula) and Dwarf Willow (Salix) on Saddle Isl., Red Bay, Labrador.—R. E. Tulloss
