intro This entity is based on a specimen sent for identification by M. Mata (INBio, Sto. Domingo de Heredia, Costa Rica). The habit, spore size and shape, and pigmentation suggest relationship to taxa such as A. flavoconia in sect. Validae.
cap 50 - 60 mm wide, warm tan (57 1.Br.) over disc, brown (58 m.Br.) toward margin, concave; context pale sordid pink (31 p.y.Pk); margin probably nonstriate at least at first; universal veil as pale orange cream warts (70 1.OY), probably originally brilliant yellow (83 Brill.Y).
gills free, very crowded, (31 p.y.Pk), 3 - 5 mm broad; lamellulae present.
stem 55 - 75 × 3 - 5 mm, pale sordid pink above partial veil, warm tan (57 1.Br.) below partial veil, pulverulent above partial veil, fibrillose below it; bulb small, not strongly distinguished; context as in pileus; partial veil median, pale yellow (89 p.Y.), with margin decorated with brilliant yellow ((83 brill.Y.) universal veil material; universal veil not observed.
