name status nomen provisorum
author Tulloss, S. D. Russell & Alofe
english name "Ife-Ife Ringless Amanita"
intro We only have information about the appearance of a fruiting body of this species that could be deduced from dried material.
gills We expect that marginal striations on the cap will take up more than half of the cap's radius.
stem The volva at the stem base is sack-like and tubular.  A lengthwise section of the stem will show the stem is attached the volva for a short distance on the stem's sides as well as at its base.
odor/taste We have no information about odor or taste of this species.
spores The spores of Amanita ifeifensis measure (10.4) 11.3 - 12.6 (-15.0) × (5.2-) 5.3 - 6.0 (-7.5) μm and are inamyloid and elongate to cylindric (rarely ellipsoid).  Clamps are not found at bases of basidia.
discussion This species is only known from Osun State, Nigeria where it is associated with a leguminous tree that is mycorrhizal.

We have seen only one specimen of this mushroom, and it was not fully mature.  This may affect microscopic measurements such as size of the spores.
