intro The following is derived from the original description of Amanita brunneistriatula.
cap The cap is 27 - 42 mm wide, and brown to dark brown in the center.  The cap's flesh is firm and white with an edge that is radially grooved.  Small patches and pointed gray-brown warts are present, that are densest over the center and scattered at the edge.
gills The white gills are attached to the stem, moderately broad, and not very close together.  The short gills were described as all being the same length.
stem The stem is 25 - 35 × 4 - 12 mm and is decorated above the bulb with rows of fine white fibers.  The white ovoid bulb is 9 - 13 × 10 - 15 mm, and sometimes has a narrow raised ridge forming a margin around its top.  The stem's flesh is white, firm, and solid.  The stem's hanging ring is positioned at the top of the stem and flares at its edge; it is very faintly striated.
odor/taste Taste and odor were not recorded.
spores The spores are 9 - 11 × 7 - 8.5 μm, amyloid, and subglobose to broadly ellipsoid.  No clamps are present at bases of basidia.
discussion This specimen was described from western Australia, were it was found in groups, in sandy soil covered by low moss near Port Gregory Gums (Eucalyptus calophylla).—R. E. Tulloss and N. Goldman
