The spores of this species measure (4.5-) 4.8 - 6.5 (-8.0) × (3.6-) 3.8 - 5.1 (-5.5) μm, and are broadly ellipsoid to ellipsoid, usually smooth (although a few may bear minute, spiny, warts), and inamyloid. Clamps are common at the bases of basidia.

RET: [42/2/2] (4.5-) 4.8 - 6.5 (-8.0) × (3.6-) 3.8 - 5.1 (-5.5) μm, (L = 5.3 - 5.6 μm; L' = 5.5 μm; W = 4.1 - 4.3 μm; W' = 4.2 μm; Q = (1.18-) 1.20 - 1.45 (-1.51); Q = 1.28 - 1.30; Q' = 1.29), colorless, hyaline, smooth to (rarely) spinulose, thin-walled, ??, broadly ellipsoid to ellipsoid, often adaxially flattened, occasionally as giant spores; apiculus sublateral, cylindric, often proportionately long-cylindric; contents granular to multiguttulate; color in deposit not recorded.
ecology
Gminder (1994): In both broad-leaved and coniferous forest, predominantly on calcareous soils, always on soils of better quality. Revised material from Baden-Württemberg predominantly in Picea forest on calcareous soil.
RET: Germany: At 240 m elev. In deciduous forest including Fagus sylvatica and Quercus robur. Sweden: At 1 - 51 m elev. In debris around large burnt stump of Fraxinus or next to path in compost of small plants and leaves under Alnus, Salix, and Betula. Switzerland: At ca. 450 m elev. In calcareous soil of park under F. sylvatica.
