spores	The spores of A. cruetilemurum measure (9.5-) 8.0 - 11.0 (-11.5) × (4.8-) 5.0 - 6.5 (-7.0) μm and are predominantly ellipsoid to elongate (infrequently broadly ellipsoid, rarely cylindric) and amyloid. Clamps are probably absent from bases of basidia.

The relatively high value of Q' for the present provisional species is compared to the values available for other pallid, rubescent, North American taxa of section Validae in the following sporograph diagrams:

The portion of Chapman 1400 received by RET was very large and was divided into two parts labeled 1400a and 1400b in RET's herbarium. Material from both of these parts were separately sampled for molecular study; hence, the two nrLSU sequences came from two fruiting bodies chosen at random from the original Chapman collection. Likewise baterial cloning of nrITS was carried based on two samples—one from each part of the divided collection.

In the past this species has been called Amanita sp-NM10 on this site and in correspondence.
